SAUGEEN FIRST NATION, ON – June 2026 – Indigenous communities across Canada now have access to a new economic development tool designed to keep more value flowing back into their communities.
eSupply Canada has officially opened its national supply chain and e-commerce platform to Indigenous communities, providing a no-cost turnkey solution that allows communities to earn revenue from purchases they are already making.
The average First Nation spends approximately $1.3 million annually on operational supplies, including office products, janitorial supplies, furniture, technology, and industrial goods. In most cases, those purchases are made through large national retailers, meaning the economic benefit leaves the community the moment an order is placed.
eSupply Canada’s platform changes that.
Through a community-branded online store connected to eSupply Canada’s national supply chain, communities can purchase the products they already need while earning revenue back on every transaction. Communities can also make the platform available to local businesses, community members, neighbouring organizations, and external customers, creating an additional source of revenue and economic participation.
For the average community, that can represent more than $130,000 annually in new revenue that can be used to support community priorities, including job creation, entrepreneurship, and supporting youth and Elders.
“Indigenous communities don’t have a revenue problem. They have a leakage problem,” said Steven Vanloffeld, Founder and CEO of eSupply Canada. “Millions of dollars leave communities every year through routine purchasing. We built this platform so communities can begin capturing some of that value and redirecting it toward their own priorities.”
The platform is fully managed by eSupply Canada and includes access to more than 50,000 products across office, janitorial, industrial, furniture, technology, and facility maintenance categories. There is no inventory to purchase, no warehouse to operate, and no logistics to manage. eSupply Canada handles sourcing, fulfillment, customer service, and delivery while communities focus on generating value.
The opportunity is not limited to Indigenous communities.
Economic development corporations, Indigenous entrepreneurs, and community-owned businesses can also leverage the platform as a low-risk pathway into the supply sector, using eSupply Canada’s established infrastructure to build locally owned businesses and serve regional markets.
“We’ve spent years building the supply chain, supplier relationships, technology, and fulfillment network,” added Vanloffeld. “Rather than asking every community to build that infrastructure themselves, we’re making it available so communities can start benefiting immediately.”
