Call for proposals – Gender-based violence prevention funding

The Department of Family Services supports larger-scale community-based initiatives that empower community-based efforts, organizations, and projects focused on gender-based violence prevention, education, awareness, and support.

The department is currently calling for and accepting proposals for the 2026-2027 fiscal year.

This funding initiative, under the Gender-Based Violence National Action Plan, is in line with our commitment to address and prevent gender-based violence in Nunavut.

Your community-based projects can commence any time after July 1, 2026.

Proposals should demonstrate how your project or initiative will actively:

• Promote gender-based violence prevention and education.
• Aim to transform social norms, attitudes, and behaviours contributing to gender-based violence.
• Enhance health, social, economic, and justice outcomes of those impacted by gender-based violence.
• Address underlying causes, prevention strategies, mitigation, and responses to gender-based violence.

The deadline for applications is June 30, 2026.
