Award presented to Community Government of Behchokǫ̀
Special Award was given to the Community Government of Behchokǫ̀ at the 2017 Local Government Administrators of the NWT (LGANT) Professional Development Conference, held in Yellowknife from October 3 to October 5, 2017.
Chief Clifford Daniels and Senior Administrator Officer (SAO) Larry Baran were asked to receive a Special Award on behave of the Community Government of Behchokǫ̀. The 2017 Community Learning Award was presented to Behchokǫ̀ because the Community Government is taking advantage of the full range of School of Community Government offerings.
Behchokǫ̀ has a commitment to Life-Long Learning and Professional Development, therefore staff are enrolled in a wide variety of training opportunities including Water Treatment, Finance, Building Maintenance, Recreation, as well as maintaining two trainees for the SAO position.
Deputy Minister, Eleanor Young, presented the award and complimented Chief Clifford Daniels on setting a standard for all NWT communities.
