The Métis Nation of Ontario (MNO) is proud to be a part of a groundbreaking project assisting Indigenous youth in Thunder Bay. A transitional housing project, led by Ontario Aboriginal Housing Services and managed by the Thunder Bay Indigenous Friendship Centre, is already underway and on target for completion by January 2026.
The project will provide safe and supportive housing for homeless or at-risk urban Indigenous youth aged 18 to 29. Along with shelter, the centre will offer 24-hour support, case management, and access to culturally grounded justice and wellness programming. These services will help youth navigate challenges such as addiction and mental health, paving the way toward stability and independence.
