Construction resumes for Chasàn Tatäy subdivision

Press Release

April 23, 2026

Construction for the Chasàn Tatäy (Range Point) neighbourhood is resuming and is expected to be completed later this fall.

Chasàn Tatäy will support more than 380 new residential units through a mix of housing types. The Government of Yukon and Kwanlin Dün First Nation have been collaborating on this subdivision since 2020.

The Government of Yukon has contracted Norcope Enterprises Ltd. to advance work on the wastewater lift station and forcemain.

Residents will see construction crews placing barriers and clearing snow and trees along the easement and on the larger project site. Some trees in the right-of-way will be cleared to enable construction.

This work is required to service the new neighbourhood and connect lots to the City of Whitehorse’s wastewater system.

Quick facts

  • The forcemain is a buried, pressurized pipe for wastewater, which will be located within a City of Whitehorse easement that runs behind Northland Park along Mountainview Drive and towards Range Road.
  • This project is the first fully serviced and jointly developed residential neighbourhood between the Government of Yukon and a Yukon First Nations government.
  • Once construction for Chasàn Tatäy is complete, the lots owned by the Government of Yukon will be released.
  • Kwanlin Dün First Nation-owned lots will be available for long-term leasing.
  • Construction for Chasàn Tatäy started in 2025.
