Press Releases
(July 16, 2015, Iqaluit, NU)- The Qikiqtani Inuit Association (QIA) is pleased to announce that it has received dividends from the Nunasi Corporation in the amount of $518,728.13.
“We are extremely pleased with the dividends. The funds will go directly to Inuit in all the 13 communities through our Community Initiatives Program (CIP).” said QIA President PJ Akeeagok
The CIP was established in 2007 to determine how money from QIA’s subsidiary companies, Nunasi Corporation and Qikiqtaaluk Corporation, could be best used in providing the most assistance to beneficiaries in the Qikiqtani communities. The CIP funding is aimed at projects that are community driven and connects to as many beneficiaries as possible.
Qikiqtani beneficiaries can apply annually, directly to QIA, for various community projects. For an application or more information on the CIP, please visit the QIA website at www.qia.ca or email info@qia.ca.
