Growing Alberta’s partnerships in Japan

Minister of Environment and Protected Areas Rebecca Schulz will travel to Japan to promote Alberta’s global leadership in reducing emissions and responsible energy development.

Minister Schulz will be travelling from Jan. 29 to Feb. 8 to promote Alberta’s environmental and energy track record and advance new partnerships with Japan. She will be joining representatives from Energy for a Secure Future, Indigenous leaders and industry officials. During the mission, Minister Schulz will meet with business and government officials to discuss environmental innovations and energy opportunities.

  • Travel to Japan.

  • Meetings with energy industry officials and tour of JERA Futtsu Thermal Power Station and LNG Intake Facility.
Feb. 1-2
  • Briefings.
Feb. 3
  • Meetings with industry leaders.
Feb. 4
  • Meetings with energy industry officials.
Feb. 5
  • Attend Canada-Japan Energy Partnerships Forum and meetings with energy industry officials.
Feb. 6
  • Meetings with industry officials.
Feb. 7-8
  • Return to Alberta.
