Celebrate Museum Month at PAMA

BRAMPTON, ON (Apr. 28, 2026) – Every month, Peel Art Gallery, Museum and Archives (PAMA) offers a variety of exciting programs and exhibits for Peel residents and that’s particularly true for May. PAMA is a place to explore and learn about Peel region’s diverse culture and heritage, highlighting important local, Canadian, and global narratives.

“PAMA remains a vital cultural home for our community—a place of connection, learning, and belonging. Through exceptional experiences, meaningful partnerships, and dedicated service, we continue to honour the stories of Peel while creating space for new voices, perspectives, and shared experiences,” says Robin Howarth, PAMA Manager.

New spring exhibitions

  • New banners: Alton Mill Dam by Risa Horowitz, created in partnership with the CONTACT Photography Festival.
  • Witness Blanket, an exhibition based on the art of Carey Newman and developed in collaboration with and circulated by the Canadian Museum for Human Rights.
  • Abstract Art in Canada from PAMA’s collection.

Discover unique workshops

  • Exploring art and history through the fountain pen with Brianna MurphyThursday, May 7, 7 to 8:30 p.m.Discover the history of the fountain pen, view objects and documents from the PAMA collection, and experience the pen firsthand. Learn more and register.
  • Silk scarf painting workshop with Chamila BellethSaturday, May 9, 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 2 to 4 p.m.Discover the beauty of silk painting in this hands-on workshop. Participants will be introduced to iron-set dyes and salt texturing techniques that create vibrant, flowing designs with rich organic colours. The process embraces movement, resulting in expressive, one-of-a-kind silk artworks. Learn more and register.
  • The art of the head wrap with Navern Nash-LongshawSaturday, May 23, 1 to 4 p.m.Step into a space where style meets soul. Art of the head wrap is a transformative gathering that celebrates women redefining their crowns with confidence, grace, and purpose through the timeless art of head wrapping. Free Spring Open HouseSaturday, May 30, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

  • Explore new exhibitions, enjoy behind-the-scenes storage tours or a guided tour of the courthouse, jail, and exhibitions, all day long. Hands-on art activities, musical guests, vendor market and interactive photo booth also available.
  • Meet Risa Horowitz, PAMA’s feature banner artist.
