Harper Government Supports Wind Farm Project at Henvey Inlet First Nation

The Honourable Tony Clement, President of the Treasury Board and Member of Parliament for Parry Sound – Muskoka, on behalf of the Honourable Bernard Valcourt, Minister of Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development is pleased to announce the Harper Government’s investment of $3 million to support Henvey Inlet’s proposed 300 megawatt wind farm project.
This project will guarantee future financial independence and full employment for the Henvey Inlet First Nation and many residents in the surrounding communities.
Strong infrastructure is the foundation for solid and prosperous communities, which is why our Government is committed to ongoing infrastructure support for First Nations in building stronger, healthier, and safer and more self-sufficient communities.

- The proposed location for the wind farm is Henvey Inlet Indian Reserve (I.R.) #2. Henvey Inlet I.R.#2 is located on the south side of the Key River, west of Highway 69, approximately half way between Sudbury and Parry Sound, Ontario.
