Housing Provider Workshop – Fort Frances – June 19

Promoting Housing Rights among Métis, First Nation, and Inuit Communities in Northwestern Ontario

~ Housing Provider Workshop ~

The Human Rights Code protects all Ontarians from discrimination with respect to their housing. Despite this, violations of the Code are widespread and act as a major barrier to low income and other disadvantaged households, particularity Métis, First Nation and Inuit people, in their attempts to access appropriate and affordable housing. Sometimes these violations are intentional – more often they are not.

The Métis Nation of Ontario and the Centre of Equality Rights in Accommodations invite you to participate in our informative Northern Housing Rights workshop.

This workshop will:

• help service and housing providers better understand the application of the Code to housing, and its implications for their clients and their work

• be an opportunity to work together to improve the housing opportunities for the District’s most vulnerable communities.
