Media are invited to the Bedford Institute of Oceanography where the Honourable Lena Diab, Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship, on behalf of David J. McGuinty, Minister of National Defence will celebrate the dedication into service of the Canadian Coast Guard Ship (CCGS) Naalak Nappaaluk.

When: May 12, 2026 at 10:30 am ADT
Where: Bedford Institute of Oceanography, 274 Baffin Blvd, Halifax, Nova Scotia
What: A media availability, photo opportunity, and ship tour will follow remarks.

Media must register by Monday, May 11 at 12:00 pm ADT. Please send your name and outlet by email to the Department of National Defence’s Media Relations: mlo-blm@forces.gc.ca.

Media are to arrive at 10:15 am ADT and will be escorted to the ceremony location. The ceremony and reception will take place outdoors. Closed toe shoes are mandatory for the vessel tour.
