The Honourable Steve Crocker, Minister of Tourism, Culture, Arts and Recreation, is congratulating six Newfoundland and Labrador folk musicians/groups who have been nominated for 2024 Canadian Folk Music Awards.
The nominees from this province include:
For the first time since 2008, St. John’s will play host city to the award show from April 4 to 7, 2024. Special events such as showcases and all ages events will also be held to celebrate Newfoundland and Labrador’s rich history in folk music.
Together, Celebrate NL, Destination St. John’s and Music NL submitted a bid to bring the folk music showcase to the province. The mission of the Canadian Folk Music Awards is to celebrate and promote Canadian folk music in all its forms.
