Minister Crocker Congratulates Newfoundland and Labrador Musicians Nominated for 2024 Canadian Folk Music Awards

The Honourable Steve Crocker, Minister of Tourism, Culture, Arts and Recreation, is congratulating six Newfoundland and Labrador folk musicians/groups who have been nominated for 2024 Canadian Folk Music Awards.
The nominees from this province include:

Instrumental Solo Artist of the Year / Instrumentiste solo de l’année - Abigale (Different Roads)
Young Performer(s) of the Year / Jeune artiste(s) de l’année - Paige Penney (Game Changer)
Young Performer(s) of the Year / Jeune artiste(s) de l’année - Paul Pike (Echoes Of Our Ancestors – Paul Pike)
Instrumental Solo Artist of the Year / Instrumentiste solo de l’année - The Swinging Belles (Welcome to the Flea Circus)
Children’s Album of the Year / Album jeunesse de l’année - Youngtree and The Blooms (Youngtree and The Blooms)
New/Emerging Artist(s) of the Year / Artiste(s) de la relève de l’année
For the first time since 2008, St. John’s will play host city to the award show from April 4 to 7, 2024. Special events such as showcases and all ages events will also be held to celebrate Newfoundland and Labrador’s rich history in folk music.
Together, Celebrate NL, Destination St. John’s and Music NL submitted a bid to bring the folk music showcase to the province. The mission of the Canadian Folk Music Awards is to celebrate and promote Canadian folk music in all its forms.
