“Mikinaak” means “turtle” in Ojibwe, symbolizing resilience, wisdom, and the steady journey toward success.
The NADF Mikinaak Bursary is designed to support Indigenous students as they work toward their educational and career goals,
grounded in tradition and steady growth.

Bursary Overview

Purpose:
The Mikinaak Bursary aims to make a meaningful impact in the lives of Indigenous students pursuing post-secondary education.

Bursary Value:

• $500 per recipient (up to $3,000 awarded annually)

Application Deadline:

• • Applications open March 1, 2024

Eligibility Criteria

• Must be a member of a First Nation within the Nishnawbe Aski Nation, Treaty 3, or Robinson-Superior 1850 Treaty territories.
• Must be enrolled in a recognized post-secondary program (in-person or virtual).
• Preference is given to students pursuing studies in Business, Finance, and Administration.
