THUNDER BAY: Nishnawbe Aski Nation (NAN) Grand Chief Alvin Fiddler, on behalf of the NAN Executive Council, congratulates the accomplishments of the Aboriginal business community honoured at the 25rd Annual Nishnawbe Aski Development Fund Business Awards in Thunder Bay last night.
“I am inspired by the skill, determination and enthusiasm these leaders have displayed while advancing economic development and business opportunities that are building capacity for our First Nations and improving the quality of life for our people,” said Grand Chief Alvin Fiddler, who attended the gala at the Valhalla Inn. “The success of these business leaders and entrepreneurs is laying the foundation for a stronger economy on which we will build a better future for generations to come.”

Fiddler recognized NADF for celebrating the achievements of the people of NAN for 25 years.
“This is a milestone achievement and we thank NADF for the significant role it has played in nurturing the growth and success of our businesses and organizations,” said Fiddler. “It is important to recognize that by working together we can continue to grow as a Nation, blazing new trails and bringing new hope for our people.”
The event was also a fundraiser for the Dennis Cromarty Memorial Fund, which provides financial assistance to help NAN members fulfill their academic aspirations. Recipients are young and mature students who are consistent academic achievers in secondary school, college and university.
