Saanich police still searching for First Nations art stolen during 2024 heist – Tofino/Ucluelet Westerly News

March 18, 2026

The Saanich Police Department continues to investigate the theft of a large collection of First Nations art from a Gordon Head residence nearly two years ago.

On April 2, 2024, the collection, which included pieces from artist Calvin Moreberg, Inuit carvings and jewelry, valued at more than $60,000, was stolen from the Saanich home.

Police say some of the stolen pieces were recovered, but many remain outstanding. They ask anyone who has seen the artwork, knows where they are located, or has information related to the investigation to call the non-emergency number at 250-475-4321 and reference file number 24-5779.
