Fire ban now lifted; fire threats reduced for most communities

Communities Affected by Wildfire

Fires of Interest

  • The STOWERS Fire is 5 km southwest of La Ronge and continues to put Hall Lake and Clam Crossing at risk. It is 900 hectares and not yet contained.
  • The EGG Fire is currently 96,200 hectares. The fire surrounds the north end of the airport and is 1.5 km west of La Ronge. It is not yet contained, but is no longer a threat to communities..
  • The LYNX Fire is 2,000 hectares and is 22 km southwest of Stanley Mission and 6.7 km northeast of Sucker River. It is not contained.

Fire Ban Lifted in Provincial Forests and Parks

The fire ban put in place June 25, 2015 has now been lifted. Open fires are now permited in all provincial forests and provincial parks and recreation sites located within these forests. Please visit the Fire Ban page for more information.
