CMA Ambassador Zoey Bourgeois reflects on medical school, quiet advocacy and the future of Indigenous health.

Here, Zoey Bourgeois, a Métis medical student with roots in the Red River region of Manitoba, talks about her final year at the University of Saskatchewan and her role as a CMA Ambassador.
What do you recall about starting medical school?
I’m very passionate about sports and staying active. I competed in road cycling at the Canada Games in 2022 during my second week of medical school — a memorable way to begin my training!
