Photo journey of the 2015 Toys for the North

Press Release

“O” (Ontario) and “B” (Newfoundland-Labrador) Divisions of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) are pleased to provide a photo journey of this years ‘Toys for the North’ toy drive.

The RCMP has participated in the drive since 2010 in partnership with the Canadian Toy Association and Thomson Terminals transportation and includes a national network of RCMP, law enforcement, military and corporate and external partners who collectively contribute to the success of delivering new toys to children in our Northern communities.

We are grateful for the toy donations and gift wrap from the member companies of the Canadian Toy Association and Hallmark Canada, as well as the, private businesses, and the caring public who help to put smiles on the faces of the children.

Special thanks to the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) who make delivery of toys to the Northern communities a reality.  “Without the assistance of the RCAF, we could not succeed in sending the toys to those in need.” commented Toys for the North 2015 coordinator, RCMP Inspector Andrew Cowan.

We are also eternally grateful for the continued participation by our RCMP Detachment employees who wrap the new toys and hand deliver the toys to remote communities.
