The Ontario Native Women’s Association (ONWA) is Offering Healing Supports for those affected by the National MMIW Inquiry Thunder Bay Community Visit

The Ontario Native Women’s Association is offering culturally sensitive, healing support services to families, friends and loved ones of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women who are attending the National MMIW Inquiry Community Visit that is currently being held by the Federal Government in the city of Thunder Bay from September 11 th to 14th, 2017.

ONWA understands that this is a difficult process and would like to extend our support to family and friends that are participating in the Community Visit. These supports are available to all family, friends and loved ones of MMIW, even if they are not attending the Community Visit. ONWA is committed to providing these supports to loved ones affected and is offering safe spaces, ceremony, a sacred fire, cultural and traditional supports, traditional medicines, elder support, healing circles, information on MMIW and the Inquiry and support persons that are available to offer one on one care.

ONWA encourages all friends, family and loved ones of MMIW to contact our office for more information or to drop in at our 380 Ray Blvd Site.
