La Loche marks the second anniversary of the tragic shootings in the community – Métis National Council

Today, the citizens of La Loche and the Clearwater River Dene Nation are marking the second anniversary of the January 22, 2016 shooting which took several lives and wounded several others.

President Clément Chartier of the Métis National Council and Métis Nation – Saskatchewan President, Glen McCallum joined in the church service and community gathering.

On January 13, 2018 after Mayor and Local Vice-President Robert St. Pierre provided an update to the Provincial Métis Council meeting in Saskatoon, President Glen McCallum asked Métis Elder Norman Fleury to offer a prayer in Michif for St. Pierre and the La Loche community.
