Investing in safe and affordable housing in Alberta
The Alberta government is investing in seven affordable housing and seniors housing projects across the province to give more Albertans a safe, accessible and affordable place to call home.
As part of the Provincial Affordable Housing Strategy, a significant government investment will allow housing providers to explore options for building and renewing seniors housing and affordable homes in Alberta.
Housing projects approved for planning
- Parkview Village, Calgary – $250,000
- Various projects, Fort Saskatchewan – $250,000
- Spruce Cliff Downs (replacement), Calgary – $250,000
- Aging in Community rural pilot project, Oyen – $100,000
- Piyami Lodge, Picture Butte – $250,000
- Silver Willow Lodge, Nanton – $250,000
- Metis Urban Housing Corporation, Edmonton – $100,000

Quick facts
- Housing providers bring forward proposals to the Ministry of Seniors and Housing and are allocated funds depending on the community’s needs.
- The planning funding associated with these projects will assist government and the organizations to plan future capital projects.
- Housing proposals that receive planning funding may not receive development funds and move on to the construction phase.
- The planning stage of the project involves scope, cost-definition and feasibility studies.
