Press Release
DEADLINE: 4PM CST Thursday February 18, 2021
Manitoba Music is now taking submissions for a new video project presented with the support of Safe At Home MB. The six-part series will explore the undeniable connection local musicians have to their stomping grounds, their homes, studios, neighbourhoods, and favourite music venues.
This genre-spanning series will provide a glimpse into Manitoba musicians’ creative spaces and their neighbourhoods. Artists will be asked to speak about their creative process, explore their connections to their home and neighbourhood, and provide an intimate performance. Episodes will culminate on stage, with a performance at a local music venue. As a mix of interview and performance, this series will provide the artists an opportunity to share their stories.
This is a paid opportunity. Artists from across the province, with a special focus on Indigenous and Francophone artists, are invited to apply. Videos will be approximately 20 minutes long and feature two songs. All performances will be recorded in accordance with public health guidelines with a professional film crew. Videos will be streamed to Manitoba Music’s 11,000+ followers on Facebook and YouTube this spring.
