Red tower for Indigenous Veterans Day and Remembrance Day

Winnipeg – November 8, 2021 –

A poppy‐red tower will glow atop the Canadian Museum for Human Rights (CMHR) all this week in honour of Indigenous Veterans Day today and Remembrance Day on Thursday.

The Museum is closed today, but starting tomorrow and extending through Saturday, free admission will be extended to veterans and to active serving members of the Canadian Armed Forces, including reservists and cadets, and their families (up to a total of four people).

What: Remembrance Day week

When: Monday, November 8 to Saturday, November 13

Where: CMHR, 85 Israel Asper Way

The Museum will be open from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Remembrance Day (November 11). It will be closed in the morning to respect the solemn nature of this occasion and encourage the public to attend morning commemorative services. The Israel Asper Tower of Hope will glow red from dusk on November 8 until the morning of November 14.
