Press Release
February 14, 2022
Are you a full-time student who identifies as Black, Indigenous or a person of colour? Don’t miss your chance to apply for new scholarships available this month thanks to a generous donation from the Pinball Clemons Foundation.
The Pinball Clemons Foundation has donated $99,000 to the college, and we’ll be awarding 33 scholarships to BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, people of colour) students in March. Eligible students must apply for the Pinball Clemons Foundation Mentorship scholarships by the end of February (preference will be given to Black and Indigenous students).
The announcement of these scholarships coincides with the release of George Brown College’s Indigenous Education Strategy and with Black Futures Month celebrations.
Award recipients will be asked to participate in the Pinball Clemons Mentorship Program, which will consist of three, 90-minute sessions. Attendance in the mentorship program will be required to receive the award funds.
“We’re grateful to the Pinball Clemons Foundation for this incredible gift — a donation that will help to break down barriers in accessing education and will have a positive effect on the lives of many students,” said Audrey Rochette, Director, Indigenous Initiatives at George Brown.
George Brown offers many other scholarships, bursaries and awards. Check the Awards and Scholarships page to learn more.
