Do you want to start a daycare in your home?

Taking care of more than four children under the age of 12 in your home requires a licence from the Department of Education – it’s the law. Take your care to the next level by becoming a licensed provider.

Becoming a licensed provider means you can:

Obtain a government subsidy so you can offer $10/day care to parents.
Receive additional funding to support your daycare business (including start-up support, language and culture programming, operations and maintenance, and more).
Access early learning resources that reflect Inuit culture and life in Nunavut (resources available in all official languages).
Benefit from specialized training and ongoing support in all aspects of childcare.
Access a network of care providers and supports.
