Press Release
Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, ON – In the interest of improving communications to Members and our First Nation, the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation (MCFN) has released a new mobile app focused on community news, events, alerts, opportunities, and resources. The official MCFN app, brought forward by Pillar 6 Lead, Councillor Ashley Sault, will send push notifications for important notices, and allows membership to know as soon as events, jobs, and more are advertised.
“We are always looking for ways to ensure important information can be easily accessed by our Members, this mobile app is a new and faster way to connect,” said Executive Director of Operations, Kerri L. King when asked about the utility of the app for members. “With the push notifications we can send out, information will go straight to the home screen of your device and will limit anyone missing notices or events of interest.”
The Communikit platform that hosts the MCFN app is the first and fastest-growing Indigenous- focused communication app service in Canada. Communikit allows progressive Indigenous leaders to stay connected to their members at any time, across any distance.
Gimaa (Chief) Stacey Laforme explained the need for an improvement in digital communications, saying, “we do our best to ensure Membership are always informed, but there have been challenges, especially with our off-reserve population. | have heard from our Members that information can be hard to find, or that they missed an event they would have liked to attend, and we hope this begins to solve some issues that have come up in the past. | look forward to hearing how the app is received by the Members. We want our Membership to be engaged”
The MCFN mobile app is available for download now on the App Store and Google Play Store. Download today and keep up with everything happening at MCFN!
