Camosun College: Orange Shirt Day at the Library

Press Release

September 2, 2025

The Library honours Sept. 30, Orange Shirt Day

Visit the Library’s Orange Shirt Day research guide to learn more about the annual event where Indigenous and non-Indigenous people come together to honour residential school survivors, those students who did not survive, their families and communities, and to reflect on the far-reaching impacts of Canada’s Indian residential school system. Join us as we take time for learning as an act of reconciliation.

Library resources related to Orange Shirt Day will be on display at both campus libraries throughout September.

Look for the new Authentic Indigenous Voices (AIV) icon and designation on bookmarks, in library guides, when searching the catalogue, on book spines, and in displays. The AIV icon will help you find Indigenous authored/created content from the Camosun Library. Visit the Indigenizing Citations at Camosun Guide to learn more.
