‘I feel incredibly lucky to be in this era of time,’ says pop artist

At the age of nine, Siibii saw Juno award winners CerAmony in Chisasibi, Que., and noticed how proud everyone was of the Cree duo. Siibii later had a dream they were performing on stage.

On Tuesday, Siibii was woken by a call from their manager and told they were nominated for a Juno award of their own, in the Contemporary Indigenous Artist or Group of the Year category.

“I was very dishevelled; it kind of took a second for me to realize it wasn’t a dream,” Siibii said.
