RCMP got report of injured person at home in northwestern Manitoba First Nation Tuesday morning

The death of a 17-year-old girl in a northwestern Manitoba First Nation on Tuesday is being investigated as a homicide, police say.

RCMP got a report of an injured person at a home on Stagg Crescent in Mosakahiken Cree Nation, about 475 kilometres northwest of Winnipeg, at 4:15 a.m. on Tuesday.

When officers arrived, they found a 17-year-old girl, who was pronounced dead at the scene, Moose Lake RCMP said in a Thursday news release.
