Jreyden Bangloy, a first-year law student at the University of Saskatchewan’s College of Law, has been selected as the inaugural recipient of the MLT Aikins Indigenous Scholarship in Law in the amount of $6,000.

Jreyden was one of many extremely qualified applicants who applied for the scholarship. He was recommended for the award by the College of Law due to his academic achievements and interest in practising Aboriginal Law.

“I am extremely thankful to be selected for the MLT Aikins Indigenous Scholarship in Law,” Jreyden said in a statement to the University of Saskatchewan. “This award has helped me overcome the financial struggles from moving, allowed me to visit my family after finishing the winter term and will help in my return to the College of Law for my second year. Financial struggles are overwhelming and stressful for students, and an award such as this significantly helps with these struggles.”
