Indigenous historian Rope Loft’s research forms a unique experience at the Rockton historical village
Westfield Heritage Village will be marking Indigenous Peoples Day this year with an addition to their exhibit on the family history of one local Indigenous historian.
Rope Loft is a Mohawk historian and ironworker from Six Nations of the Grand River. Since 2021, Loft has been working alongside Westfield Heritage Village in Rockton to create an exhibit following the history of his family.
“All of this history here, it would have been lost had I not took the curiosity of the last name Loft,” said Loft.
