On Bayfm’s Qalipu Today Chief Jenny Brake says after twenty years of achieving ratification and 15 years since being federally recognized as a band, the Mi’kmaq language will be there for our children.
This is National Indigenous History Month a time to honour the stories and cultures of Indigenous Peoples, whose presence and stewardship of this land span generations. On Bayfm’s Qalipu Today Chief Jenny Brake says after twenty years of achieving ratification and 15 years since being federally recognized as a band, the Mi’kmaq language will be there for our children. Brake says language is something Indigenous people across the country are trying to revitalize.
