Officers responded to a disturbance involving a potentially armed person
The shelter-in-place advisory for M’Chigeeng First Nation area has been lifted.
During the morning of Friday, June 12, 2026, a shelter-in-place advisory was put into effect in M’Chigeeng First Nation, following reports of gunshots in the Riverside Drive area. Officers from the United Chiefs and Councils of Manitoulin (UCCM) Anishnaabe Police Service, together with Manitoulin OPP, initially responded to the disturbance.
