A “YES” vote for Metlakatla First Nation!

October 13, 14, and 15, 2016, Metlakatla First Nation Members voted “YES”, making Metlakatla the 65th Nation to ratify a community Land Code under the Framework Agreement on First Nation Land Management. With the vote results indisputably reflecting the community’s will to reassume control over their lands and resources, Metlakatla is now poised begin a new era of Land Governance. Congratulations Metlakatla First Nation!

Nak’azdli Whut’en votes “YES” in Community Land Code!

In an outstanding show of community support, Nak’azdli Whut’en Nation voted in favor of their community Land Code. On October 2nd, 2016, the official numbers showed that participating voters ratified the Land Code with over 91% approval! As the 66th First Nation to ratify their community’s Land Code, under the Framework Agreement on First Nation Land Management, the people of Nak’azdli Whut’en have taken the reigns to recover control of their lands, resources and future. Congratulations Nak’azdli Whut’en!
