Alberta budget commits $6.9M for expanded First Nations police detachment in Lesser Slave Lake area – 89.3 The Raven

The Alberta government is investing $6.9 million to expand the Lakeshore Regional Police Service detachment building which serves five First Nations communities in the Lesser Slave Lake area.

The money will be used to expand the LRPS, which serves Driftpile Cree First Nation, Sawridge First Nation, Swan River First Nation, Sucker Creek First Nation and Kapawe’no First Nation.

The Lakeshore team consists of a chief of police, two inspectors, two sergeants, ten constables and seven support staff.
