Press Release
September 26, 2024
The Canadian Museum Association is seeking two (2) additional members for the CMA Indigenous Council, formerly known as the CMA Reconciliation Council.
As the advisory body to the CMA, the Council believes that museums, art galleries, and related institutions have a responsibility to consult, advocate, decolonise, reorganise, and support Indigenous self-determination.
The CMA Indigenous Council provides authoritative guidance to the CMA’s Moved to Action program, as well as other related Indigenous initiatives, and select areas of the CMA’s governance.
While we encourage applicants from coast to coast to coast, we will prioritize applicants of Indigenous descent from the Prairies and Québec to fill current gaps in regional representation.
How to Apply
Applicants are asked to review the CMA Indigenous Council Members’ Relational Agreement (link) and submit a self-nomination of no more than one (1) page, along with an updated resume or a link to your LinkedIn profile to: reconciliation@museums.ca no later than 5:00 pm (ET) on Tuesday, October 15, 2024.
