Press Release
January 27, 2026
With 2026 well underway, we reflect on the moments that helped set our current momentum and achievements to date. At the close of 2025, the team at Cochrane Sinclair LLP came together for a holiday gathering that was intentionally light in tone, but meaningful in substance. Beneath the humour and informal atmosphere were leadership milestones and reflections that continue to shape the firm’s path forward.
Celebrating leadership milestones
As the firm reflected on the year coming to a close, several partnership milestones were recognized, led by the promotion of Megan Young, Alyssa Cloutier, and Stacey Soldier to partner, effective January 1, 2026. Their advancement reflected Cochrane Sinclair’s commitment to growing leadership from within and recognized the excellence, care, and responsibility each brings to their work and to the firm’s culture. Robert (Bob) Freedman also joined the firm as a partner at the start of the new year (2026), bringing decades of legal experience and nationally recognized, thoughtful counsel aligned with the firm’s values and long-term direction.
Honouring legacy and impact
Beyond leadership announcements, the gathering also created space for reflection.
Danielle Morrison spoke about the enduring impact of the late Honourable Murray Sinclair, whose leadership, advocacy, and vision continue to shape the firm and the broader legal community.
Her remarks underscored the importance of carrying forward values rooted in reconciliation, integrity, and service. They served as a reminder that growth is not measured only by titles or milestones, but by a responsibility to honour the people and principles that helped shape the path forward.
More than milestones
While leadership announcements and reflections anchored the gathering, the evening was ultimately about the people who make the firm what it is every day.
It was a moment to recognize the full team across offices and roles, from lawyers to legal assistants, paralegals, administrative professionals, and support staff whose work often happens quietly, but is essential to everything the firm does. The gathering acknowledged personal milestones, shared stories, and the relationships that underpin strong collaboration.
It also reflected the personality of the firm itself. Moments of humour, movement, and levity reminded everyone that culture is built not only through work, but through connection. Whether through shared laughter, informal conversations, or very memorable dance moves that will live on in memory, the evening reflected a workplace where people are encouraged to show up as themselves.
These moments matter. They reinforce a culture grounded in respect, trust, and appreciation for the collective effort behind the firm’s success.
Looking ahead
As Cochrane Sinclair moves further into 2026, the momentum continues.
New partners bring fresh perspective. Internal promotions reinforce a commitment to long-term leadership development. And a strong, connected team remains at the centre of the firm’s progress.
Together, these moments reflect a firm that continues to grow with intention, grounded in its values, and energized by the people who carry the work forward.
