Department of Health marks Client Safety Week

The Department of Health encourages Nunavummiut to join us in recognizing Client Safety Week from October 23 to 27, 2023. This year’s theme is “Small changes. Big impact. Safer care.”
Even small things can make a big difference in ensuring safe and appropriate care when accessing health services.
Here are two small things you can do that can have a positive impact on your healthcare experience:
- Ask questions: During your next visit to a health facility, ask questions, share concerns and be part of decisions about your health.
- Share your experience: Contact the Office of Patient Relations at 1-855-438-3003 or patientrelations1@gov.nu.ca to discuss your healthcare experience confidentially.
Iqaluit Health Services is holding events and information sessions at the Qikiqtani General Hospital. For events happening in your community, be sure to tune in to local radio and the Government of Nunavut social media pages for updates.
The Department of Health looks forward to celebrating Client Safety Week with all patients, staff, and community members.
