First Nations and the Province of Manitoba Stand United on the Issue of MMIWG

MANITOBA – Please be advised that a press conference will be held on an joint statement to the Commissioners of the National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls (MMIWG) from the Assembly of Manitoba Chiefs (AMC), Manitoba Keewatinowi Okimakanak (MKO), Southern Chiefs Organization (SCO), Assembly of First Nations Manitoba Regional Chief’s Office (AFN MB RCO) and the Province of Manitoba (MB).

The AMC, MKO, SCO, AFN MB RCO and the Province of MB stand united on the issue of MMIWG. All parties have identified there is a need for Manitoba to be represented within the Commission’s existing leadership structure, and Manitoba Families, Survivors and First Nations’ Leadership should be fully engaged in the selection process.
