First Nation opened the doors Monday to new Caregiver Fourplex housing project
Families and caregivers from Kwanlin Dün First Nation (KDFN) have a new place to stay in Whitehorse when they are experiencing a crisis.
The First Nation officially opened a new complex of housing units to be used a short-term and emergency accommodation.
“It’s just a dream,” Darlene Smith told CBC News as she walked through one of the fully-furnished units on Monday. Smith, with KDFN’s justice department, was feeling emotional about the opening of the new Caregiver Fourplex.
