A woman from Steinbach is sharing her story of grief, resilience and the importance of awareness surrounding Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls and Two-Spirit People (MMIWG2S).

While Red Dress Day was observed earlier this month on May 5, Mileena Gagnon says the pain carried by many Indigenous families continues long after the day has passed.

Gagnon says her Indigenous culture has consistently been a source of peace and identity in her life.
