Nipissing sending 68-member team to Toronto – North Bay Nugget

It’s a critical time for university recruitment in Ontario this week, with more than 120,000 prospective students and their supporters visiting the Ontario Universities’ Fair in downtown Toronto.

Nipissing is sending a team of 68 people, including14 faculty members, 14 students, one member of the board of governors, and 39 staffers representing recruiters, executives, admissions personnel and other key staff in various departments from financial aid and education placements to lab instructors and technology experts.

“The sense of community that exists at Nipissing is a real strength, and very attractive to many students. It definitely plays a role in our recruitment strategy,” says Valerie Edmunds, manager of student recruitment. “We strive to make one-on-one personal connections to discover personal interests and try to match those interests with what Nipissing offers. It’s our goal to get to know students so we can show them why Nipissing may be the best choice for their university career.”
