ON: Child, Youth and Family Services Act, 2017 – Phase 1 Proposed Regulatory Provisions – Comment Period Open

Press Release

Once proclaimed, the Child, Youth and Family Services Act, 2017 (CYFSA) will provide a modern, child- and youth centred legislative framework to strengthen services and help protect and care for some of Ontario’s most vulnerable children and youth. Proclamation of the CYFSA is expected in Spring 2018.

The Ministry of Children and Youth Services has actively engaged youth, stakeholders, provincial associations and Indigenous partners over the past year to develop policy and regulatory changes to support CYFSA implementation.

The ministry invites you to comment on the first phase of the proposed regulatory provisions and statements of policy, which have been posted to Ontario’s Regulatory Registry. Click on the topics below to review and comment on the proposals of interest to you. Please note that all comments are due no later than January 26, 2018.

The ministry will continue to seek input on the regulations throughout the consultation period and will consider the feedback received when making final revisions.

Additional regulatory proposals are to be posted in a second phase (expected late summer/early fall 2018).

This page and the Ontario Regulatory Registry will be updated as additional proposals become available. Please check back regularly.
