OPP not laying charges in Caldwell First Nation probe – Windsor Star

The OPP have announced they will not be laying charges in connection to allegations of financial crimes within Leamington’s Caldwell First Nation.

In a release late Tuesday afternoon, the OPP said there were two separate allegations made surrounding a powwow organized by the band council last year and that the Leamington OPP major crime unit and the anti-rackets branch have concluded their investigations and charges are not anticipated.

Chief Louise Hillier and councillor Lonnie Dodge were removed from office by the band council over the weekend.
