Public consultation on cannabis legalization – Government of NU

The Government of Nunavut (GN) is holding public meetings in several communities in January and February to get feedback from Nunavummiut on the proposed regulatory options for legalized recreational cannabis.

Public meetings are taking place in:

• Rankin Inlet, on January 29, 6-9 p.m., at the community hall
• Arviat, on January 30, 6-9 p.m., at the John Arnalukjuak School
• Coral Harbour, on February 1, 6-9 p.m., at the community hall
• Kugaaruk, on February 6, 6-9 p.m., at the community hall
• Cambridge Bay, on February 7, 6-9 p.m., at the community hall
• Kugluktuk, on February 9, 6-9 p.m., at the community hall
• Iqaluit, on February 13, 6-9 p.m., at the Anglican parish hall
• Cape Dorset, on February 14, 6-9 p.m., at the community hall
• Kimmirut, on February 15, 6-9 p.m., at the community hall
• Igloolik, on February 20, 6-9 p.m., at the community hall
• Arctic Bay, on February 21, 6-9 p.m., at the community hall

Interpretation services will be available and light refreshments will be provided.

Comment cards are available in all communities at health centers, GLO offices and income support offices, or can be downloaded at www.gov.nu.ca/finance/information/cannabis.
