Program aims to support Indigenous students in post-secondary courses tailored to individual needs
Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in First Nation (THFN) has partnered with Yukon University to create the school’s first bridging program.
The program is meant to support students in achieving their post-secondary goals by offering flexible class schedules, grading options, and offering a variety of programs.
Sue Parsons, courses and programs manager at the university, said the program is supposed to flip how school usually works. Instead of the programs being developed and students fitting into the model. Students are instead defining what they want the content and the curriculum to look like for them.
