On March 3, 2018, at approximately 6:35 am, The Pas RCMP received a report of a pedestrian struck on Highway 283, approximately three kilometres west of The Pas, Manitoba. Officers arrived on scene and provided CPR until EMS arrived. A 21-year-old male pedestrian from The Pas was transported to hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
It is unclear at this time whether alcohol was involved in the collision. The 68-year-old female driver of the vehicle, from Opaskwayak Cree Nation, was not intoxicated.
A RCMP Forensic Collision Reconstructionist is assisting with the ongoing investigation.
