Two men and a woman arrested during drug seizure

Press Release

July 5, 2016

Woodstock First Nation, New Brunswick

Two men and a woman are facing drug-related charges, following a seizure at a residence on the Woodstock First Nation last week.

On June 29, 2016, at approximately 2:30 p.m., members of the West District RCMP executed a search warrant and seized quantities of what are believed to be methamphetamine, packaged marijuana, cocaine and hashish. Police also seized a sum of money as proceeds of crime.

“Disrupting and preventing the sale of illegal drugs in our communities is a priority of the RCMP in New Brunswick as these drugs can be dangerous and contribute to further crime and social problems,” says Sgt. J.P. MacDougall of the Woodstock RCMP. “We’re working closely with First Nation leaders and members of the community to deter the abuse and trafficking of illegal drugs.”

Two men, aged 24 and 28, and a woman in her mid-30s were arrested at the residence. They were released on promises to appear in court at later dates, to face drug-related charges.

A fourth person, a 37-year-old woman from the Woodstock First Nation, is still being sought in connection with the incident. The woman is described as being about 5’10” tall, with a medium build. She has brown hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Woodstock RCMP at 506-325-3000. Information can also be provided anonymously through Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), texting TIP212 + your message to ‘CRIMES’ (274637), or by Secure Web Tips at www.crimenb.ca.
